This cycle was the creek. I picked the pieces that show how the question changed: it started as “why is the water dirty” and turned into “can we prove which of two things is doing it.” The week where I got stuck on the write-up is in here on purpose. That week is where the actual thinking happened.
Publishing freezes it as a snapshot, so what you present stays what you presented.
